WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The CIU women's track and field team produced multiple podium performances and qualifying marks Thursday during day one of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at JDL Fast Track.

Junior Coral Curry delivered one of the top performances of the day, finishing second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.79 meters to earn All-Conference honors and eight team points while recording a new NAIA-listed mark.

Freshman Arion Jefferson matched that finish on the track, placing second in the 400 meters in 59.36 seconds to add eight more points and secure another All-Conference performance.

In the high jump, Lydia Gustafson cleared 1.52 meters to finish fourth and score five points for CIU. Michaela Oglesby also competed in the event, placing 11th at 1.32 meters.

Elizabeth Gustafson added a ninth-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02.12.

In preliminary action, Oglesby ran 10.05 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and Jefferson clocked 8.26 seconds in the 60 meters.

Competition resumes Friday as the Rams look to add to their point totals and pursue additional All-Conference honors.
