Mission:
To provide Columbia International University student-athletes with the highest care possible by creating an inviting environment and considering their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. We encourage and inspire our athletes we come into contact with by showing the love of Jesus, honoring Him through serving our community with our gifts and talents.
Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God's grace. 1 Peter 4:10
The Columbia International University Sports Medicine Staff consists of one full-time certified athletic trainer (ATC), and two graduate assistant athletic trainers provided through the University of South Carolina's Post-Professional Athletic Training Program.
Dr. Jeffrey Guy, MD, is our team physician and orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Guy and his medical team at USC Medical Group take care of all of our student-athletes on campus that require further medical evaluations and/or surgical interventions.
The athletic training facility is located inside Moore Fitness Center, upstairs in relationship to the basketball/volleyball court. As a sports medicine team, we care for all Rams athletes on campus during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
What is athletic training? (National Athletic Trainers' Association)
Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries, and medical conditions. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.
Athletic Training Facility – Moore Fitness Center
Athletic Training headquarters is located in the Moore Fitness Center. Any treatment or appoints will be done at this location in the athletics training room, across from the women's visiting locker rooms.

Drayer Physical Therapy Institute
Drayer Physical is CIU's athletic training service provider. While the athletic training staff handles the majority of care and day to day treatments of the student-athletes, our physical therapists are "certified in sports/ortho" and are available to assist us, meeting the needs of the student-athlete and assuring they are receiving the highest level of care to return to sports safely and efficiently.
Mission
To inspire and empower the lives we touch, to serve our communities, and to lead with purpose-driven passion.
Vision
