SPARTANBURG – The CIU women's cross country team made their season debut at the 2024 Eye Opener Collegiate Cross Country meet, held on the Milliken & Company corporate campus in South Carolina's Upstate. Competing against primarily NCAA Division I and II schools, the Rams had four women's athletes take part in the event.

Freshman Elizabeth Gustafson led the way for CIU, finishing with the team's fastest time of 22:55.82. Joining her in the lineup were fellow freshmen Morgan Hartman and Jada Figgins, who crossed the finish line at 24:13.80 and 24:17.86, respectively.

The lone upperclassman on the team, Jordan Wray, also contributed to the Rams' success, finishing ahead of Hartman and Figgins with a time of 23:25.76.

Up Next: The Rams will return to Spartanburg on Sept. 21 to participate in the 2024 Converse Kick-off hosted by Converse University (S.C.).
