HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - On Saturday morning, the CIU women's cross country team headed to the Hardeeville School Complex to race in the 17th Annual Sand Shark Invitational. The course is flat and on grass, providing an excellent course for the Rams to showcase their skills against NCAA DI and DII competition, including the host, USC Beaufort. 

Freshman Elizabeth Gustafson was the first Ram to cross the finish line, checking in with a 21:37.1. Fellow freshman Morgan Hartman kept up the momentum and finished shortly after at 22:30.9. Olivia Tanchuk rounded out the 5k performance at 27:09.3 in her first race of the year.
