WILMORE, Ky. — CIU women's track and field earned an All-American performance and multiple scoring finishes through the opening two days of the NCCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Asbury University.
Michaela Oglesby highlighted the women's performances with an All-American finish in the heptathlon, placing third overall to earn national honors after competing across seven events.
Oglesby opened the heptathlon with a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.84 and added another runner-up result in the long jump with a leap of 4.89 meters. She also placed fourth in the high jump at 1.39 meters, seventh in the shot put with a throw of 6.87 meters, eighth in the javelin at 17.89 meters, and third in the 800 meters in 2:37.86. Oglesby also advanced in the open 100-meter hurdles with a qualifying time of 15.47.
Arion Jefferson advanced to Friday's finals in both sprint events, qualifying first in the 200 meters with a time of 25.31 and second in the 100 meters in 12.45.
Lydia Gustafson scored for the Rams in the high jump, placing sixth with a clearance of 1.52 meters.
Coral Curry added a point in the discus with an eighth-place throw of 36.47 meters.
Zyra Spann competed in the 100-meter and 200-meter prelims, clocking 13.27 and 27.47, respectively.
The NCCAA Outdoor Championships conclude Friday, May 8.
