ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Elijah Seawright capped the 2026 outdoor season for CIU on Friday at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, finishing 20th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.37 meters at Karl Straus Stadium on the campus of UNC Asheville.

Seawright's performance closed the book on a historic first season under Director of Cross Country & Track Field Justin Carver, as the Rams enjoyed a year of remarkable progress across the program.

During the 2026 campaign, CIU student-athletes combined to set 21 school records while recording more than 200 personal best performances.

The national championships were highlighted by Cameron Montgomery's NAIA All-American performance in the men's shot put, where he earned a national runner-up finish with a career-best throw of 17.20 meters. Coral Curry also represented the Rams on the national stage in the women's hammer throw.
