SALEM, Va. - The CIU women's track and field team continued to prepare for the postseason at the Bast-Cregger Multi Invitational. The women's team saw top finishes against schools from all collegiate levels, including the host, Roanoke College.
Morgan Hartman led the charge in the mile, clocking in at 6:16.32, followed closely by Jada Figgins at 6:20.02. Figgins also competed in the 800m, finishing in 2:56.39.
Morgan Johnson had an impressive outing in the 200m, finishing in 27.05. The 4x400m relay team of Mercy Berkemeyer, Johnson, Elizabeth Gustafson, and Jordan Wray secured a fifth-place finish with a time of 4:25.04.
The throwers dominated, with Kloey Pickens taking first place in the weight throw with a mark of 16.41m. Coral Curry secured third place at 15.32m, while Acoya Hunt (12.81m), Janasia Day (10.64m), and Hannah Grace (10.56m) also contributed strong performances.
In the shot put, Pickens placed second with a throw of 12.38m, while Curry finished fifth with a PR of 11.50m, earning her a top-100 spot in the NAIA rankings. Acoya Hunt rounded out the group with a 10.32m effort.
