PALM COAST, Fla. — CIU men's golf began play at the NCCAA National Championship on Monday, hosted by Hammock Beach Golf Resort, and finished the day tied for third place on the team leaderboard.
The Rams posted a team score of 307 (+19), matching Cedarville University for third overall. Luke Hammond paced CIU with a 2-over-par 74 to sit in fourth place individually. Nate Caughman followed with a 76 (+4), while Braydon Hileman carded a 78 (+6). Andrew Haarlow added a 79 (+7) to round out the team scoring, and Santos Espinosa finished with an 81 (+9).
Wayland Baptist led the field after round one with a 297 (+9), followed by OUAZ in second at 301 (+13).
CIU will look to climb the leaderboard in Tuesday's second round as the Rams continue pursuit of their first national championship in program history.
