GAFFNEY, S.C. — CIU men's golf wrapped up play at the Pioneer Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Cherokee National Golf Course with a third-place team finish.
Luke Hammond led the way for the Rams with a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to finish third overall in the individual standings. Andrew Haarlow shot a 78 in round two to finish tied for 10th. Nate Caughman carded a 78 to place 19th, while Braydon Hileman posted a 79 to finish 23rd. Micah Smith rounded out the lineup with an 80.
Head coach Major McWhorter reflected on the team's performance, saying, "Not our best this week, but we have to have a short memory as we head to Florida to compete for a national championship."
The Rams will now turn their attention to the NCCAA National Championship, set for Oct. 20–22 in Palm Coast, Fla.
