Rams remain undefeated at home after sweep of Truett McConnell

COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU volleyball hosted Truett McConnell University (Ga.) Saturday afternoon as Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play begins to pick up. The Rams remain undefeated on their home court and extend their win streak to eight after taking down the Bears in three sets. CIU is now 12-1 overall and 2-0 in AAC play. 

CIU vs. TMU (25-14, 25-10, 25-16): CIU showcased a well-rounded performance, cruising to a three-set victory over Truett McConnell. A combination of sharp attacking and solid defense led the Rams to a .385 hitting percentage, led by Hanah Weiss (.643) and Kira Rymer Attaway (.429), both contributing ten kills. The Rams' attack was also reinforced by Hadassah Davis (nine kills) and Katie Camp (seven kills). Kelcey Mangum was a defensive anchor with 17 digs, while Melissa Campos Soto added 11 digs and 16 assists. Kamelia De Jesus recorded 21 assists and three serving aces. CIU's defense at the net was strong, with two solo blocks and four block assists. 

What Coach Katie Weiss is saying, "We executed the game play really well today. We had players step up offensively, and our defense kept us in control throughout the match. It was a total team effort, and I'm proud of our consistency on the court!"
