Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU baseball took advantage of two-out rallies against Bob Jones University to cruise past them to advance to the semifinals in the NCCAA South Region Tournament. The Rams now hold an all-time 9-1 record against the Bruins after the 7-2 victory Wednesday evening.
CIU 7 BJ 2: Colton Lopez came around to score on a Scott McDonough single to get on the board in the first frame. Bob Jones matched this, but the Rams got out of a bases-loaded jam with two strikeouts from Matthew Garris and a pop-out. CIU regained the lead after scoring four on a two-out rally to take a 5-1 lead in the top of the third and extended their lead in the fourth after a two-run moon shot from McDonough. The Bruins scratched another in the fifth after a couple of Rams' errors and threatened with bases loaded in the sixth. A strikeout from Tanner Bridges ended the scoring threat to keep the Rams ahead. Two strikeouts and a flyout from Rodrigo Rodriguez closed out the game to give CIU the victory.
Box Score Highlights:

- McDonough recorded three hits, including a double and a home run.
