MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - After a light day on Friday, CIU got into the heat of the action at the Berry Field Day Invite. A big day from throws and the relay teams capped off a productive and crucial meet for the Rams, with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships being just a week away.

On the track:
- Ethan Robinson, Irvin Sumter, Kenneth Simmons, and Dario Laing ran the 4x100m relay for the Rams with a team time of 42.38, a new school-best. CIU collected third place in the event.
- Laing (14.89) won the men's 110m hurdles.
- Clayton Hammond (50.26) won the 400m dash and broke the school record in the process. Simmons (51.46) secured third in the event.
- Robinson (11.13) and Sumter (11.19) both ran in the 100m and qualified for NCCAA Nationals.
- Spencer Evans (2.04.38) competed in the 800m.
- Sumter (22.81) ran in the 200m race.
- CIU took home the top spot in the 4x400 relay. Robinson, Simmons, Laing, and Hammond contributed to the effort, with a team time of 3:23.61 .
- The Rams finished third overall as a team.
What Coach Tim Thompson had to comment: "Another all-around track meet. We had PR's and NCCAA National qualifiers. Next week is when we expect to really put it all together. I'm proud of this team. What a day to be a Ram!!"
