CEDARVILLE, Ohio. – Several podium finishes highlighted the final day of the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships for CIU men's track field as they finished ninth overall as a team at the meet.
In pole vault, Blake Rimmer finished the day with a height of 14.11m and snagged second place, which will earn him NCCAA All-American honors.
Dario Laing became an NCCAA Champion as he placed 1st in the 60m hurdles with a blistering time of 8.41 seconds as he earned his first NCCAA All-American nod. Laing's time is the fastest 60m hurdle time in program history.
Phillip Frazier had a triple jump length of 11.94 meters, while in the 4 by 400 relays, Irvin Sumter, Kenneth Simmons, Clayton Hammond, and Laing finished 8th with a PR time of 3:34.21. Kenneth Simmons ran the 200m in 24.53 seconds as Spencer Evans recorded a PR time of 2:09.76 in the 800m, and his teammate Gavin Barfield also ran a personal best time of 9:42.38 in the men's 3000m.
With the top finishes of Rimmer and Laing, the Rams collected a total of three NCCAA All-Americans after Dizayuh Hinton finished second in the weight throw on Friday.
