Bruins Overpower Rams

Box Score

The Columbia International University women's basketball team was looking to run their winning streak to two games as they hosted rival Bob Jones University. Columbia International struggled to get anything going on the offensive end and it seemed as everything was going Bob Jones way. The Bruins would beat the Rams, 78-55.

The Bruins would score the first two points of the game just under two minutes into the game, but the Rams would tie the game and take their only lead of the game after a layup from Abigail Siemens. The Bruins would then regain their lead on a three point play. After a layup from Moriah Siemens the Rams would pull within one of the Bruins, but the Bruins would go on a 6-0 run to take a seven point lead. The Rams would then go on a little 4-0 run to trim the Bruins lead, but the Bruins would control the rest of the quarter and lead 21-14 after the first.

The start of the second quarter saw the Bruins take a twelve point lead, but the Rams would cut it to nine after a free throw from Aaliyah Knox. The Bruins would then start to take control of the game and push their lead to twenty-one to end the half. The Rams went into the half down 44-23.

Coming out of the break the Bruins would go on another run this time a 7-0 one and lead by twenty-eight. The Rams couldn't find a way to stop the Bruins so they could trim the lead and the Bruins would take a 62-36 lead into the final quarter.

The Bruins would keep their lead in the twenty's for most of the fourth quarter, but Victoria Dickerson got hot from beyond the arc for the Rams and was able to cut the lead to eighteen at one point. The Rams were unable to mount a comeback and the Bruins would win 78-55.
