Box Score The Columbia International University women's basketball team was looking to get back in the win column as they travel to take on Bob Jones University. The Rams and Bruins battled throughout the first half, but a slow start to the second half sunk the Rams as they fell 74-66 to the Bruins.
The Bruins would take and early 6-2 lead, but the Rams would battle right back to tie the game at six. The two teams would continue to battle as the Bruins would regain their lead, but the Rams made sure to stick with them as they would cut the lead to one after a layup from Ciara Boggs. The Bruins would go into the second quarter with a 22-19 lead.
The Rams would see the Bruins hit their first shot, but would fight to take their first lead of the game after a Liz Jenkins three with 6:33 remaining in the half. The Bruins would match the Rams and hit a three of their own and take a three point lead before the Rams would once again take a lead and this time run it to three after a jumper from Boggs. The Bruins would tie the game, but after two layups from Moriah Siemens the Rams took a four point lead. The Bruins would score one more time before the end of the half which saw the Rams lead 36-34 at the half.
The Bruins would regain their lead after the half as they started on a 5-0 run. The Rams would battle back once again and take a five point lead after a Jenkins jumper. At the 2:30 mark the Bruins would tie the game and then retake their lead as they ended the half on a 10-2 run.
The Bruins would push their lead to double figures in the fourth quarter and the Rams just couldn't match them as the Bruins would go on to win by the final score of 74-66.
The Rams shot 31 percent (26-84) from the floor, while the Bruins shot 39.2 percent (20-51)...The Rams were able to pull down an impressive 54 rebounds with 28 of them coming on the offensive end...The Siemens sisters both ended up with a double-double as Moriah Siemens had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Abigail Siemens had 11 points and 11 rebounds...Liz Jenkins also had 16 points for the Rams...The Rams were able to force the Bruins into 24 turnovers...Sydney Bedsaul led the Bruins with 22 points.
The Rams will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Warren Wilson College for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
