DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — CIU men's and women's track & field teams completed competition through the first two days of Emory's Thrills in the Hills, hosted by Emory University on Thursday and Friday.
On the women's side, Coral Curry led the Rams in the throws with a fourth-place finish in the hammer at 46.09 meters. Jerchel Geathers-Washington also competed in the event, recording a mark of 40.78 meters.
On the track, Arion Jefferson posted a time of 25.95 in the 200 meters, while Zyra Spann followed with a time of 26.99.
In multi-event competition, Michaela Oglesby finished 14th overall in the heptathlon with a total of 3,432 points.

For the men, Elijah Seawright highlighted the weekend with a first-place finish in the triple jump at 14.66 meters, hitting the NAIA "B:" Standard. Donavan Latimer also scored for CIU in the event, finishing fifth with a mark of 13.78 meters.
Cameron Montgomery turned in a strong performance in the hammer throw, finishing fourth overall with a personal-best mark of 52.52 meters. Dante Shuler recorded a top-15 finish at 47.68 meters, while Bryce Scarborough posted a mark of 40.89 meters. Casey Feaster placed second in his flight with a throw of 36.79 meters.
Dallas Turner added a fourth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.88 meters.
On the track, Zyon Black recorded a time of 1:05.38 in the 400-meter hurdles. In the 200 meters, Mark Zagata led the Rams with a time of 23.21, followed by DeVarius Ponds at 23.58 and Black at 24.40.
In distance events, Jacobo Garcia-Rivera posted a time of 10:43.98 in the steeplechase.
Hunter McCaskill competed in the decathlon, finishing ninth overall with a total of 5,180 points.
The Rams return to action Saturday, Mar. 28 for the final day of action.
