HATTIESBURG, Miss. - CIU baseball took the field Saturday afternoon to close out a busy week against Campbellsville (Ky.). The Rams narrowly lost yesterday to the Tigers, but used extra innings today for a 4-3 win and their first win of the season. 

CIU 4 CU 3: Campbellsville took an early lead after scoring one in the first and one in the third frames. However, the Rams took the weed in the bottom of the third with RBIs from Kai Smith, Daniel Sidoti, and Corbin Wright. They held onto this lead for the fourth inning, but the Tigers even the score in the fifth. For the remainder of the contest, it became a pitchers and defensive durl leading to extra innings. The Rams nearly scored in every inning, but Corbin Wright came up with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 11th to secure a 4-3 victory. 

Sidoti let the team with three hits, with Smith, Wright, and Jennings Greene recording two. Alex Wiltz secured the win, striking out seven and 5.0 innings of work. Brayden Ross, Campbell Denton, and Miller stuck did not allow any hits.
