COLUMBIA, S.C. — Nathan King and Jonathan Scarpeta scored second-half goals to lift CIU men's soccer past Bryan College (Tenn.) 2-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, King put the Rams (4-2-1, 3-1-1 AAC) ahead in the 63rd minute off an assist from Juan Ospina. Scarpeta sealed the victory with an assistfrom Owen Teos in the final seconds.
Goalkeeper Vasilios Diakomihali recorded one save to earn the shutout as CIU outshot Bryan 15-10, including a 12-3 edge in the second half. Bryan fell to 0-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play.
The Rams return to the pitch as they travel to Knoxville to take on Johnson (Tenn.) on Oct. 4.
