MARION, Ind. - CIU men's track & field makes a trip to the Midwest this week as the Rams take two athletes to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May. 21 - 23) in Marion, Ind., on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan.
Deandre Leith will compete in two events: the men's discus at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, May. 22, and the men's shot put on Friday, May. 23 at 1 p.m. ET. Leith currently has the 17th-best mark in the NAIA (50.78m) in the discus and the second-farthest distance in the shot put (17.76m). Leith will look to defend his NAIA National Championship in the shot put from 2024, where he threw 18.09m to take the title. The 2025 edition of the event is Leith's final outing in his CIU career as the Jamaican national will finish his time as one of (if not) the most decorated athletes in the history of CIU.
The Ram's other national championship competitor is Elijah Seawright, who will compete in the men's triple jump at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, May. 23. Seawright currently sits 18th on the NAIA men's triple jump performance list (14.72m).
