DALLAS, Texas — Columbia International University track & field standout
Josh Zhang etched his name into the CIU record books on Sunday, breaking the program record in the men's marathon at the NAIA Marathon held in conjunction with the BMW Dallas Marathon.
Zhang crossed the finish line with a time of 2:42:04, setting a new CIU standard in the event and placing 25th overall among the NAIA competitors. His performance marked the first time a CIU runner has competed in the NAIA Marathon since Blaise Shields represented the Rams in the event in 2021.
The NAIA Marathon is contested as part of the prestigious BMW Dallas Marathon, one of the premier road racing events in the country, drawing elite collegiate and professional runners to downtown Dallas.
