COLUMBIA, S.C. - On day two of the Cola Classic Tournament, the Rams split with College of Coastal Georgia and WVU Tech. CIU fell behind early against the Mariners to drop game one 4-1 but rebounded and breezed past the Golden Bears to win game two 8-1. The Rams are now 2-2 on the season.
Game One: CCG 4 CIU 1: Coastal Georgia took an early lead in the first and tacked on another run in the third and fourth. In the fifth, a double from Mackenzie Brown scored Caydon Thompson to put the Rams on the board (3-1). The Rams threatened to score again when Macey Drye found her way to third in the sixth, but a strikeout ended the scoring threat. Coastal Georgia added another run in the top of the seven, and CIU could not respond to fall 4-1.

Game Two: CIU 8 WVU Tech 1: Due to the tournament setup, CIU was the visiting team for their final game. The Rams took a 2-0 lead in the first after a double from Brown and a single from Alexuz Barnes. They added one in the third and one in the fifth to lead 4-0. In the sixth, Kami Meekins blasted a two-run shot to extend CIU's lead to 6-0. Mia Johnson tripled in the top of the seventh to push two more runs across in the Rams' final at-bat. The Golden Bears scratched one in the bottom of the seventh, but a groundout ended their threat.
