SALEM, Va. - The CIU indoor men's track and field team headed to the Bast-Cregger Multi Invitational for their final meet before the postseason. Against schools from all collegiate divisions, several athletes set personal and season bests across multiple events.
In the 300m race, Kevin Cunningham finished 10th with a new PR of 38.52. Denim Jones crossed the line for the 400m at 52.75 and Hunter McCaskill clocked in at 56.66. Jones also put up a season-best mark in the 200m, clocking in at 23.99.
Once again, the 4x400m relay team of Jones, Chance Guthrie, Julian Carranza, and Spencer Evans delivered a solid third-place finish with a time of 3:31.97.
Jacobo Garcia-Rivera set a new PR in the mile, finishing in 4:51.44, while Joey Canning (5:00.61) and Gavin Barfield (5:20.48) also put in strong efforts.
In the field events, Colton Buchanan recorded a mark of 11.27m in the weight throw, while Bryce Scarborough threw 11.25m in the shot put.
