GREENVILLE, S.C. — CIU volleyball earned multiple national honors on Tuesday following its historic 2025 season, highlighted by NCCAA All-America recognition for Lydia Gustafson and Kelcey Mangum and NCCAA Division I Women's National Coach of the Year honors for head coach Katie Weiss, as announced by the National Christian College Athletic Association.
Gustafson was named an NCCAA First Team All-American after anchoring the Rams' front line all season. She finished the year with 220 kills on a .310 hitting percentage while leading CIU with 185 total blocks, including 51 solo stuffs and 134 block assists. Gustafson averaged 1.50 blocks per set across 36 matches and added 338 total points during the campaign.
Mangum earned Second Team NCCAA All-America honors for the second time in her career, also being recognized in 2022. The CIU libero posted a team-best 645 digs, averaging 5.24 digs per set over 123 sets played.
Weiss was named the NCCAA Division I Women's Volleyball National Coach of the Year after guiding CIU to a 28–8 overall record in 2025. Under her leadership, the Rams captured their fourth consecutive Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and secured a fifth straight AAC regular-season title. Weiss was also named the AAC Coach of the Year.
The honor marks Weiss' second career NCCAA National Coach of the Year award. She previously earned the distinction in 2020 while serving as head coach at Bethel University.
