Rams cap week with win, taking down Bulldogs in three sets

COLUMBIA, S.C. — CIU women's volleyball continued its strong stretch of play Saturday morning, sweeping Tennessee Wesleyan (25-20, 25-18, 25-12) in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action inside the Moore Fitness Center.

The Rams (17-6, 13-2 AAC) were sharp on both sides of the ball, hitting .284 as a team while holding Tennessee Wesleyan (18-8, 10-5 AAC) to a -.018 hitting percentage. With the win, CIU improved to 7-1 at home this season.

Mary Norwood led the Rams' offense with 10 kills on a .391 hitting percentage, while Eevy Bellar added nine kills on a .583 attack mark and totaled four blocks. Lydia Gustafson tallied five kills and led the front line defensively with five total blocks. Zcearia James and Katelynn Mundy chipped in five kills apiece as CIU recorded 40 total team kills.

Setter Macy Brooks guided the offense with 16 assists and added 10 digs, while Maria Ferreira contributed 15 assists. Libero Kelcey Mangum added 10 digs and two kills as the Rams finished with 10 total team blocks and four service aces in the sweep.

CIU will look to keep rolling when they return to the Moore Fitness Center on Tuesday, Oct. 28, to host Spartanburg Methodist at 6:30 p.m. ET.
