COLUMBIA, S.C. — CIU women's volleyball continued its strong play at home Friday night, sweeping Bryan College (25-22, 25-14, 25-13) in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action inside the Moore Fitness Center.
The Rams (16-6, 12-2 AAC) were dominant offensively, hitting .376 as a team while holding Bryan (2-29, 1-13 AAC) to just a .060 attack percentage. CIU recorded 44 kills to the Lions' 29 and never trailed for long in any of the three sets.
Mary Norwood and Zcearia James led the Rams with 11 kills apiece, while Eevy Bellar added nine kills and three blocks. Lydia Gustafson provided a steady presence at the net with five kills and six block assists.
Setter Maria Ferreira guided the offense with 15 assists and three service aces, while Macy Brooks contributed 19 assists. Libero Kelcey Mangum led the defense with 14 digs, as CIU finished with 11 total team blocks in the win.
The Rams will look to carry their momentum into Saturday, Oct. 25, when they host Tennessee Wesleyan at 11 a.m. ET inside the Moore Fitness Center.
