MILLIGAN, Tenn. — CIU women's volleyball continued its dominant stretch on Saturday morning, sweeping Milligan University (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. The victory marked the Rams' seventh consecutive win and improved their conference record to 8-1.
CIU (12-5, 8-1 AAC) hit .261 as a team and held Milligan to just a .085 hitting percentage while recording seven total team blocks. The Rams' best offensive stretch came in the opening set, where they hit .400 behind 21 kills on 40 swings.
Eevy Bellar led the way with 11 kills on an impressive .667 hitting percentage, while Zcearia James and Mary Norwood added 10 kills each. Lydia Gustafson anchored the front line defensively with five total blocks, and Carlee Groeneveld contributed five kills and three block assists off the bench.
Setter Macy Brooks paced the offense with 32 assists, while libero Kelcey Mangum led the defense with 17 digs. CIU also tallied three service aces and maintained steady pressure throughout, never allowing Milligan to take a set lead beyond 22 points.
The Rams will return home on Tuesday, Oct. 14, to host Truett McConnell at 6:30 p.m. ET inside the Moore Fitness Center.
