COLUMBIA, S.C.- CIU men's soccer took the field Saturday afternoon to take on Bluefield University (Va.), returning to Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action. The Rams took an early lead and held onto it to pick up their second conference win and improve to 3-2-1 on the season.
Match Summary: The Rams outpowered Bluefield from the first whistle, taking three shots in the first ten minutes. Noe Limas got the Rams on the board (15') and Florian Baumgaertner added another (27'), both assisted by Marlon Williams, to lead 2-0. Bluefield added one before the intermission, but the Rams still held the advantage.

CIU, however, continued to pressure Bluefield as Landon Guevara found the back of the net for his first goal of the season (6-1). Bluefield added another with five minutes remaining but could not overcome the deficit, giving the Rams the 6-2 win.
Six different Rams put one past the keeper, while Williams chipped in three assists.
What Coach Bill Brindley is saying, "Glad to see our offense show up the way they did. It is rare to have six different players score. Always good to get a win on our home pitch."
