Rams blank Koalas in cross-town rival win

COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU men's soccer continued their campaign in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play with a cross-town rival matchup against Columbia College (S.C.) on Wednesday evening. Three different Rams scored in the 3-0 win against the Koalas to improve to 3-0 in conference play.

Match Summary: Both teams began firing off shots early in the contest, but neither could get on the board. Bryan Molina put the Rams ahead (36') to break the ice before the first half ended.

There was little action at the beginning of the second half until Marlon Williams (64') added another goal off an assist from Juan Jimenez. Less than ten minutes later, Rodrigo Cercal found the back of the net this time with an assist from Williams.

Vasilios Diakomihalis recorded his first clean sheet of his career and picked up five saves.

Up Next: CIU hits the road to take on Milligan University on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. EST.
