MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TENN.- CIU men's soccer made the trip to Tennessee to take on No. 4 Milligan University on Saturday afternoon. A close first half seemed hopeful for the Rams, but the Buffalos pulled away in the second half to take down the Rams 5-0. The Rams are now 4-3-1 on the season and 3-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.
Match Summary: The Rams took two shots in the first half, including three corner kicks from Victor Gonzalez, but they could not sneak one past the keeper. The Buffalos stayed off the board until the 43rd minute, leading 1-0 before intermission.
Milligan came out stronger on offense with three corner kicks and three shots five minutes into the second period. Marlon Williams attempted to get the Rams going (51'), but it was blocked. Shortly after, the Buffalos scored back-to-back goals to lead 3-0. This propelled their momentum, and they scored two more by the 81st minute. Paul Schutte, Noe Limas, and Williams continued to take shots, but none found the back of the net.
