GAINSVILLE, GA. - CIU women's soccer spent Saturday on the road, traveling to take on Brenau University (Ga.). A first-half goal from the Rams brought them back into the win column for Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play to improve to 4-2.
Match Summary: The Rams took three shots in the first twenty minutes of the contest, but the remainder of the half was evenly matched with the Golden Tigers. Amber McKinley found the back of the net less than three minutes before intermission to put CIU on the board.
The backline for both squads minimized the scoring opportunities, as both teams combined for seven shots in the second half. Hailey Resetar recorded three saves to keep Brenau off the board and secure the 1-0 win.
McKinley led the team with four shots, and Resetar totaled five saves for another clean sheet.
