COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU women's soccer welcomed Reinhardt University (Ga.) to Sessions Field Wednesday evening to continue Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. The Eagles held onto their first-half lead to take down the Rams 1-0. CIU is now 3-3 overall and 3-2 in AAC play.
Match Summary: The Rams took three corner kicks less than ten minutes into the contest but could not capitalize on these opportunities. The Eagles found the back of the net in the 19th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Lauren Jackson and Marisa Dill took shots before intermission, but the Eagles' keeper hauled it in.
Reinhardt held onto the ball for most of the second half, but Hailey Resetar hauled in eight shots to keep them from adding another goal. Avery Long and Dill took shots in the second half in an attempt to even the score. Neither team made it past the keeper for the remainder of the contest, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Eagles.
