DALTON, Ga. - CIU men's soccer returned to the Peach State to take on No. 5 Dalton State College for a Saturday afternoon contest as the Rams continue to prep for Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. A solid offensive outing for the Roadrunners gave them the 3-0 victory over the Rams.
Match Summary: CIU stayed on their defensive end for most of the first half as the Roadrunners took 12 shots. Two scooted by the Rams' keeper to give them a 2-0 lead heading into intermission. The first shot of the contest for CIU came from Rodrigo Cercal off of a corner kick from Benedict Kartheuser. It sailed high to keep the Rams off the board. Dalton State added another (48') to take a 3-0 lead. Neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of the contest to give the Roadrunners a 3-0 win. Matias Breit tied his career high with nine saves in the goal.
