MARION, Ind. - CIU track & field continued their successes at the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as both the men's and women's teams made splashes on Wednesday. Deandre Leith became the first Ram to achieve NAIA All-American status at this year's meet as he placed 4th in the discus with a season-best throw of 51.09m. Elsewhere on the men's side, Dario Laing battled in the 110-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 14.71 to finish 15th overall.
Emma Johnson, TaLayna Reed, and Ane' Peasley represented the Rams in the 100-meter hurdles as Johnson qualified for Friday's finals with a time of 14.10. Peasley posted a time of 14.89 to finish 22nd in the prelims. Reed finished with a time of 15.54.

Johnson qualified for the finals in yet another event with a time of 11.82 in the 100-meter dash. Fellow sprinters Trinyty Gregory and Charlette Johnson also competed, with Gregory crossing the finish line at 12.14 while her teammate collected a time of 12.55.
Friday will feature several event finals for CIU's women's sprinters, while Leith and Cameron Montgomery will compete for CIU in the shot put.
