MARION, Ind. - CIU track & field helped kick off another edition of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday as the Rams had several members of their squad compete in event prelims. 

The women's 4x100 relay team of Charlette Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Emma Johnson, and Trinyty Gregory qualified for the event finals with a time of 45.94, the fifth-fastest time of the prelims. The 4x100 relay finals will take place on Friday at 1:40 p.m. EST. Emma Johnson also qualified for the 200m finals, finishing eighth with a time of 23.77  in the prelims. 

The Rams' other competitor on Wednesday was on the men's side in the form of Dario Laing, who posted a time of 55.43 in the 400-meter hurdles but would not qualify for the event finals.
