WALEKSA, Ga. - On Friday night, CIU softball headed to Georgia to take on No. 25 Reinhardt University for an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) doubleheader. They struggled to get runners on during the first game but took a big lead in game two. Both games ended in favor of the Eagles, with the Rams' record going to 11-23 and 2-16 in AAC play.
Game One: RU 7 CIU 3: Reinhardt took an early lead after scoring three runs in the first two frames. The Eagles tacked on four more to lead 7-0 heading into the sixth inning, while the Rams struggled to move runners into scoring position. Caydon Thompson drove two runs in with an RBI single to cut the lead to 7-2. Carmella Korte pushed another run across the plate in the seventh, but the Rams ultimately fell 7-3.

Game Two: RU 15 CIU 6: The Rams started off hot, scoring six runs in the first inning from five hits and an error. Reinhardt scored in the bottom of every inning but rallied in the fifth to score seven runs and take a 15-6 lead to secure the run-rule win.
