PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Despite ten hits from the Rams on Saturday, CIU baseball found themselves on the wrong side of a 14-4 final score against Pikeville (Ky.) in the third game of their weekend Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series, marking a difficult turn of events after dropping the initial two matchups on Friday. The Rams are now 1-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play. 

Game Three: Pikeville 14 CIU 4: Following the momentum from yesterday, Pikeville put up six runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. CIU got on the board off an RBI single from Tanner Martinez, but the Bears responded with three more runs to lead 9-1. Aiden Pridgen added another run in the third, and the Rams pushed two across after pitching miscues from Pikeville, but they bounced back and added three in the bottom of the fourth to extend their lead 12-4. CIU went scoreless for the remainder of the contest, but the Bears added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to secure their run-rule win.
