GRAYSON, Ky. - With an all-time record of 5-1 versus the Knights, it was no surprise that CIU volleyball swept Kentucky Christian on Saturday morning. However, it was perhaps CIU's most dominant win of the season, with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, and 25-6. The win puts the Rams at 27-2 and 17-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) with one week left in the regular season.
CIU's serving headlined the win as the Rams recorded 11 aces with Gabriela Vega and Lexabel Rojas each posting three. Offensively, Hanah Weiss was the only Ram in double-digit kills with 11, Hadassah Davis totaled nine, and Ava Koselke posted 8. The Rams hitters were set up by Melissa Campos Soto, who penciled in 21 assists, and Kamelia De Jesus, who added 12 assists.
Libero Kelcey Mangum held down the back line for CIU with 13 digs while helping hold the Knights to just one ace.
Up Next: The Rams head to St. Andrews University (N.C.) on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. EST. Â
