Rocket League Gold and Blue: Rounds 1 and 2 of Playoffs
 
Both Rocket League teams came out of the gate strong on last week's first round of Playfly College Esports Playoffs! Gold Team defeated Rowan University 4-1, and Blue Team defeated DePaul University 4-1. Both match sets were Best of 7. Both games took place on the Tuesday following Veterans Day, and it was clear that CIU Rocket League had locked in early in the playoff season. These wins would launch the Rams into round two of the single-elimination playoff bracket the following week. 

Regrettably, both teams would fall to Rochester Institute of Technology (scores listed below) in notably heated matches. Both teams won games in their Best of 7 match set, proving they showed up to work and could lock in. Ultimately, RIT would win and move on to the grand finals the first week of December. 

It's been a strong season for CIU Esports, as many teams competed for the first time together. With 3 out of 4 teams making playoffs and two of them making it to the second round, there is much to be thankful for. Spring 2025 is on track to be another grand showcase for what the Lord is doing in CIU Esports. Go Rams!
