Rams battle on the road with Bulldogs

ATHENS, TENN. - CIU women's soccer hit the road to take on Tennessee Wesleyan for an intense Saturday Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup. CIU fell behind early in the contest and could not make up the difference to fall 3-0 to the Bulldogs, making their record 6-4 overall and 6-3 in ACC play.

Match Summary: The Rams trailed for most of the first half as Tennessee Wesleyan scored in the 7th minute. Five minutes later, the Bulldogs added another to lead 2-0. They extended their lead in the 21st minute for a 3-0 advantage before intermission. Mercy Berkemeyer took a shot off a Callie Rowe corner kick, but the attempt sailed wide.

The Bulldogs offense continued to overpower the Rams, but Hailey Resetar recorded nine saves in the second half to keep them from adding more to the scoreboard. Marisa Dill and Olivia Young took shots on goal that the Bulldogs' keeper hauled in.

Up Next: CIU welcomes No. 24 Truett McConnell (Ga.) to Sessions Field on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. EST.
