Women's Soccer yields match to No. 24 Truett

COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU women's soccer hosted No. 24 Truett McConnell University (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for an important Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest. The Rams' offense struggled to keep up with the Bears, resulting in a 4-1 loss. CIU is now 6-5 overall and 6-4 in AAC play.

Match Summary: The Rams stayed in their defensive half for most of the first period, as Truett took 13 shots and CIU took none. The Bears connected with the back of the net three times to lead 3-0 before intermission. Despite the goals, Hailey Resetar recorded five saves.

Lily Jackson took a shot that sailed high shortly into the second half. Marisa Dill snuck one by the keeper in the 51st minute on an assist from Lauren Jackson to put the Rams on the board. Truett added another goal before the half ended, but two saves in the game's last minute from Brooke Monfils held them to a 4-1 loss.
