BARBOURVILLE, KY. - With three regular-season Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contests left in the season, CIU women's soccer hit the road to take on Union Commonwealth (Ky.). Playing a man down in the second half, the Rams fell 2-0 to bring their conference record to 6-5.
Match Summary: The first half was evenly matched, as neither team connected with the back of the net to get on the board. Marisa Dill and Amber McKinley made attempts but could not give the Rams an advantage before intermission.
A red card in the 54th minute for the Rams caused them to play a man down for the remainder of the contest. Shortly after, the Bulldogs scored their first goal (56'). Union continued overpowering the Rams and added another goal in the 73rd minute. Chloe Battaglia took the Rams' only second-half shot, but the Bulldogs keeper hauled it in.
