COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU men's soccer welcomed Johnson University (Tenn.) to Sessions Field on Wednesday night to celebrate the Rams' ten seniors. CIU took the lead three minutes into the contest and maintained this advantage for a 4-1 win over the Royals. Their final home Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup improved their overall record to 8-5-2 and conference to 7-3-1.

Match Summary: Juan Jimenez got the Rams on the board three minutes into the contest on an assist from Landon Guevara. Vasilios Diakomihalis and the Rams' backline recorded six saves to keep the Royals off the board in the first half. CIU took six more shots, but the score remained 1-0 at intermission. 

The second half was much more exciting, with four combined goals scored. Guevara extended the Rams' lead to 2-0 off a corner kick from Jimenez (47'). Four minutes later, Rodrigo Cercal added another goal off an assist from Florian Baumgaertner. The Royals responded with their first goal of the contest (56'), but their rally was shortlived as Cercal found the back of the net again to put the Rams ahead 4-1. Two more saves from Diakomihalis and a defensive save from Marlon Williams kept Johnson off the board to secure the win for the Rams on their final home regular season contest.
