COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU's Overwatch squad will get its first action in program history this weekend as the Ram's will participate in the CECC South Region Qualifiers put on by Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) and its electronic gaming affiliate ESPORTSU. The qualifying tournament spans three days and gives CIU the chance to reach the CECC South Region Tournament, which is slated for Oct. 22-23.  

CIU has been slotted in Group D at the qualifiers; this group contains three other competitors, Texas A&M University, the University of Florida, and Clemson University (S.C.).

The tournament signals the start of an eagerly anticipated regime in the CIU esports era as the Ram's Overwatch team boasts several highly ranked players on a global scale. 

The Rams begin group play at 3 PM with a matchup versus the Gators. The rest of the bracket and schedule are as follows:

October 8 (All times EST)

3 PM - Group Start 

6 PM - Round of 16 

8 PM - Round of 8 

9 PM - 5TH Place match 

October 9 

2:30 PM EST - Semifinals 1 

3:30 PM - Semifinals 2 

4:30 PM - 3RD Place Match 

5:30 PM - Finals
