ATHENS, Tenn. - With three contests left on the docket in the regular season for CIU women's soccer, they hit the road for a matchup with Tennessee Wesleyan University. CIU entered the contest coming off a 2-0 win over Point (Ga.) after two straight losses to two of the top teams in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
They took on another one of those top teams again in the Bulldogs, who held a 9-4 overall record, 8-2 in AAC play entering Saturday's battle on the pitch. CIU held the second-highest-scoring team in the conference, scoreless in the first half, but gave up three goals in the second frame to fall on the road in Tennessee.

Both teams would feel each other out in the early going, with no shot attempts until the 6' minute. Neither team would come up with scores in the first period despite the Bulldogs getting 12 shots off compared to the Ram's three. CIU keeper
Julianna Bost had three saves in the first frame.
In the second frame, the second leading goal scorer in the AAC, Krista Eik Hardardottir, found the net yet again at the 55' mark to draw first blood. She would find the net again in the 64' minute to increase the Bulldog's lead to two. TWU put in their third and final goal of the game at the 81' minute to take the win on their home field. The Rams were outshot 25-6 with three shots in each of the two frames. Bost ended with six saves, giving her 39 on the season.
