Women's Soccer clash with Golden Tigers on the road

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - CIU women's soccer capped off the week with a road match against Brenau University (Ga.) Saturday evening. The Rams were unable to bounce back after a tough loss in their last matchup to No. 23 Reinhardt. As a result, CIU moved to 5-4-3 and 3-4-2 in the conference.

Scoring Summary:
Brenau put the first goal on the board in the 5' minute as Daroly Ramos scored to start things off. However, roughly two minutes later, the game would be knotted at 1-1 with a mishap in the Golden Tigers' defense, which allowed an own goal to trickle through. After that, the rest of the frame was quiet as both teams settled in.

The Golden Tigers quickly took the lead back with a goal just 36 seconds into the second frame. Brenau carried that momentum throughout the second half. They outshot the Rams 11-2 in the second frame and totaled three corner kicks. Penagos struck for the second time in the contest, adding the insurance goal in at the 72' minute, ultimately giving Brenau a 3-1 win.

Julianna Bost had an impressive outing as she continues to start in goal for the Rams. She records nine saves on the night. Amber McKinley was aggressive offensively, firing off four shots, three of which were on goal.
