COLUMBIA, S.C. - The CIU Men's Soccer team took down the No. 25 ranked Union College Bulldogs in Saturday night's 2 to 1 victory. The win gives the Rams their first win over a nationally ranked NAIA opponent in program history. The win also moves CIU to 1-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play and 4-0 overall.

Saturday's match was a tightly contested and hard-fought battle between both teams. The first goal would not come until the 21:01 minute mark of the first half as CIUs'
Romulo Barreto would find the net off a free-kick just outside the box to give the Rams the early lead. However, the Bulldogs answered with a goal by Ulisses Sanatana Reis with just under six minutes remaining in the half.
In the second half, the Rams would strike early with a goal from
Lucas Galdino under five minutes into the period. After that, the Rams and Bulldogs would battle until the final whistle was blown. However, the Rams would not surrender a goal in the second half and knocked off the No. 25 ranked Bulldogs at Sessions Field.
