TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - The CIU Baseball team headed to the NCCAA South Region tournament on Monday to face the number No. 4 seed Trinity Baptist College. The Rams entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed, after a heartbreaking defeat in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) tournament last week. The Eagles and Rams meet for the first time this season, as the season series between the two squads was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns back in February. After seven innings, CIU downed the Eagles by a score of 8-2.

- CIU's high-powered offense struck first, as Gabe Austin batted in an RBI single to left field, scoring Corley Cheeks giving CIU a one-run advantage in the first inning.

In the next at-bat, Robert Bell doubled to left field, scoring Hernandez from first base. Gabe Austin followed up Bell, hitting a two-run homer over the left-field wall, giving the Rams an 8-2 victory over Trinity Baptist.
