JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The CIU women's soccer team hit the road for the first time in 2021, as they traveled to Edward Waters College to take on the Tigers. CIU is resuming play from the 2020 fall season, as there were no non-conference games allowed in the fall. After a hard-fought defensive battle through the first half, the Rams broke through, winning the contest 1-0. 

Key Plays 

First Half

• The Rams got to work early with pressure, as Rebekah Reinhard would have a chance, but was thwarted by Tiger goalkeeper Tameia Dow. 
• CIU kept bringing pressure offensively, smothering the Tigers with 17 shots in the first half, compared to Edward Waters three. Despite this consistent attack, the Tigers kept things even at nill all. 

Second Half 

• CIU poured it on in the second half again, taking 15 shots on target to Edwards Waters three. 
• The Rams finally found the back of the net with 23 minutes left to play, as Taylor Kyle launched an unassisted goal past Tameia Dow for CIU's sole score of the game. 

Key Players: 

• Emily Nelson got her first start in goal tonight, tallying two saves and a clean sheet. 
• Taylor Kyle registered seven shots, three on goal, and one goal in the win. 
• Rebekah Reinhard made her impact felt with seven shots, five on goal.
