Scoring Summary:
It was a tale of two halves for the Rams in Saturday's afternoon contest. Brenau took command of the first half with eight shots compared to the Ram's two. But the Golden Tigers were not able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities due to great defense by the Rams back-line. As a result, the game would go into halftime scoreless.
The tide would turn in the second half for the Rams as they would start to create more scoring opportunities, recording 13 shots in the period, and also taking six corner kicks.
Mazzie Leos came up huge for the Rams scoring two goals in a five-minute span to give the Rams a comfortable, two-score advantage. The first would come on an assist by
Makenzy Dupree at the 57:18 minute mark. Her second of the game and fourth of the season would come just past the 62:00 minute mark. The Rams would hold a two-goal lead for the remainder of the second half, coming out with an important conference win with a final score of 2-0.
What Coach Kara Farnsworth Lail is saying:
"We are proud of the girls for finishing strong. Second half we came out hungry for a goal and worked together to finish with two. We celebrate this win and look on to prepare for Wednesday against Point."
