WEST POINT, GA. - CIU women's soccer took on Point University (Ga.) for a midweek Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon. Heading into the contest, both teams sat in the middle of the conference standings, battling for position in an always competitive AAC. The game between the Rams and Skyhawk would not be decided until overtime, with the Skyhawks edging the Rams 1-0. The Rams move to 8-7 overall and 5-6 in AAC play. 
Scoring Summary: 
Wednesday afternoons game was as expected for two teams fighting for position as they near postseason play. It was a tightly contested match throughout regulation, with neither team able to separate themselves with a goal. The Skyhawks edged the Rams in shots in both periods by just four while both teams played in three corner kicks. 
Kayla Lusk would get the start in goal for the Rams with an impressive outing, collecting four saves throughout the course of the game. 
The game would be sent to a ten-minute overtime period, where Point's Kelly Carlisle would connect on an assist from Tamia Jones to give the Skyhawks the victory. 
Up Next: The Rams will take the pitch next on Saturday, Oct. 23, against Tennessee Wesleyan University. Kick-off is set for Noon.
